Peter the Ant is a large, grey ant who first appeared in the Pico Day submission Pico vs Peter the Ant. The beady-eyed ant would prove somewhat popular as a recurring gag amongst a handful of popular authors, who would frequently use the character in submissions. Peter the Ant debuted in the eponymous Pico vs Peter The Ant, in which the player (as Pico) is tasked with smashing a large ant which runs across your desk. Upon defea, he will produce a wincing noise and splatter into a pile of blood. Peter was later featured in the animation Pico vs Peter the Ant, which shares an identical title to the game on which it is based. In this animation, Peter is interrupted from reading a large book of pornography by Pico, who proceeds to urinate upon Peter's anthill. This animation cements Peter's weapon of choice as a large hammer, which he uses to bash Pico's testicles at the animation's conclusion. Peter The Ant is something of a running gag amongst a small handful of Newgrounds' more recognized authors of the 2020s (such as Stepford), having appeared in several submissions either directly or as a small cameo.
